The focus on three R’s are important, but what are we forgetting to provide?

What is missing?

With the focus on standardized testing becoming so prevalent in our world, skills that older generations take for granted are no longer being taught. Things that we need to get through life are no longer being taught, with the result that we have young adults who can not even “get by” in the world. At LifeScapes, we supplement our school programs with training on the following:

¨ How to balance a checkbook

¨ Anger Management

¨ Communicating and getting along with others

¨ How credit works

¨ Planning a balanced diet

¨ How to write a resume, fill out an employment application or do a job interview

¨ How to get the best value for your money

¨ How to be a good parent

¨ Other topics our young people may decide that they wish to learn about

 

Communications skills are not the only thing missing!

Life Skills Training

We need additional volunteers. The need for these skills far out weighs the available resources we have at hand.

Anyone who demonstrates that they can put together a session  covering a topic of interest is welcome to call!

Our young people are always asking for topics that our current volunteers may not feel up to covering, we need more people with varied skills to help!
